Plate Magnets

Plate magnets are basically just rectangular NdFeB-magnets, applied with a coating, and located within a (steel) construction. Rare Earth Elements contained in the magnet are Neodymium, Ferrum and Boron, but also traces of Dysprosium, Aluminium and Nibium.

The magnet can be provided with various kinds of coating: Chrome, Epoxy, Gold, Nickel, Parylene C, Silver, Teflon ®, Tin, Titanium, Titanium Nitride, Zinc and Zinc Chromate. Next to the coated magnet, you have the construction itself, which can also be provided optionally in various metals.

There are many machines that apply this kind of magnet like suspended permanent magnets, hump magnets and overband electromagnets. Its advantage and broad application lies in its sheer simplicity. You could cut through a duct pipe and install you plate magnet there. You could also place at the end of a conveyor belt. The possibilities are limitless.
